End of term essay

Each week a student or a group of students will present on an assigned topic. This will be followed by a general discussion and thus all the students are expected to read the assigned material, to prepare for each class and to actively participate in the discussion. At the end of the term, students will write an essay (approximately 2,000 words) related to one of topics discussed. Details related to essay’s structure and the concrete topics will introduced during the course.

【成績評価基準の内容】
レポートと出席状況のウエイトはおおむね五割ずつとする。レポートは、鋭い視角によって問題提起を行ない、提起された問題に対する深い考察をどれほど出来ているか、ということを基準として評価される。
